Jim Kacian is the founder and chair of the board of directors of The Haiku Foundation (since 2009), and he served as president from 2009 to 2024. He is the founder/owner of Red Moon Press (1993), editor-in-chief of Haiku in English: The First Hundred Years (W. W. Norton, 2013), and managing editor of Juxtapositions since its inception in 2015. His latest book of haiku is after / image (2018), and he is nearing completion of Clerikus, his anecdotal history of haiku in the West, in process since 2014.
