haiku::photo is a visual kukai, a series of blog posts where we invite anyone with a camera to explore the application of haiku principles to the craft of photography. To review these principles, see haiku^photo, a site prepared by your host, internationally acclaimed photographer M. H. Rubin. Go to the “The Discovery” page (“Start your journey here”) and watch the four videos at your own pace. You’ll be all set. Then each month you’ll be given a topic derived from the practice of haiku and some explanation of how it applies to photography. You’ll have 2 weeks to absorb the topic, take some photos that utilize it, and then send the best if them to us for consideration. The community will vote for their three favorites, and your sabaki will select his favorite and offer commentary. These results will become the haiku::photo archive.
