The Haiku Foundation honors the work of contemporary masters of the dual art of haiga: visual image wedded to haiku. This month’s featured artist is Elizabeth Crocket.

Elizabeth is a Canadian poet and author who has had two books shortlisted for the prestigious Touchstone Distinguished Books Award. Her haiku, senryu, tanka, haibun, and haiga have been widely published in many of the leading journals and anthologies. She won the Jane Reichhold Contest in the photography category in 2017, and has written eight poetry books. She has taught introduction to haiku courses and workshops at libraries, women’s groups, etc. and is a member of Haiku Canada. Elizabeth has an addiction careworker diploma from McMaster University.
