Dr. Randy Brooks is Professor of English Emeritus at Millikin University where he teaches courses on haiku, tanka, and Japanese poetics. In 2022 he retired at the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. He and his wife, Shirley Brooks, are publishers of Brooks Books and co-editors of Mayfly haiku magazine. Randy is on the Executive Committee of the HSA as the Electronic Media Officer. He maintains the HSA website and edits the web sampler issues of Frogpond. He serves as the webmaster for Modern Haiku Press and as web editor of Modern Haiku magazine. He is on the board for the American Haiku Archives. He also serves on the editorial board for the Red Moon Press Haiku Anthologies and was an editorial board member for Juxtaposition: The Journal of Haiku Research and Scholarship. His most recent books include Walking the Fence: Selected Tanka and The Art of Reading and Writing Haiku: A Reader Response Approach.
