Amanda Monteleone is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of English at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she currently teaches. Her interest in English-language haiku began with her study of Gerald Vizenor’s writings in a graduate course on Native American literature. She has presented papers on ethnomusicologist Frances Densmore and early Cherokee writer John Rollin Ridge. Her current research focuses on modernities in East Asian literature and popular culture.
