haiku::photo 1 voting ballot
The Haiku Foundation welcomes you to the haiku::photo voting ballot. Here are this month’s submissions. Click on any photo for which you wish to vote to discover its number, and enter that number in the appropriate space in the form below (please type in the number only!). Your choices will probably be made on the basis of how well the photographs illustrate this cycle’s focus.
Please use the haiku::photo voting form below to enter your selections, and then press Submit to cast your votes. No other votes will be recognized or honored. All votes must be signed (that is, no “anonymous” votes will be accepted, and the Submit button will not be available until both Name and Email fields are filled in). Any viewer of this ballot is eligible to vote for their favorite photographs at this time. A voter may choose up to three (3) photos per theme. A top vote will receive 3 points, a second-place vote 2 points, and a third-place vote 1 point. No one may vote for his or her own work. No commentary will be accepted or published. Votes will be accepted from the appearance of the ballot on the 3rd of the month through midnight of the 10th of the month. Readers may vote only once per ballot. Administrators of haiku::photo are ineligible to vote.
haiku::photo voting
Thank you for participating in haiku::photo. Results, commentary and the new topic will be announced on the 15th of the month. Have fun, and good luck!
Curated by internationally renowned photographer M. H. Rubin, haiku::photo is an opportunity to combine two areas of artistic knowledge. Anyone with a camera can explore the application of haiku principles to the craft of photography., first by viewing Rubin’s site, then by posting their best efforts related to our monthly theme here on the THF site. The result is a visual kukai, and results will be housed in the haiku::photo archive.

So many interesting photos. It took me 3 days to whittle down my initial shortlist of 22 to just 3!
Was happy to have 2 of my photos displayed (won’t say which ones). And, no, I didn’t vote for my own!
The participant’s name is displayed when we save the image as.
Best regards.

I am unable to find the link for the 75-minute presentation. I signed up to the website, and received acknowledgment .. I know I’m not good at finding things when they are hidden .. but would love to see and absorb the presentation and do the exercises. Thanks for any help re this. Maxianne who can’t figure it out
Hi Maxianne: the starting post is here: https://thehaikufoundation.org/haikuphoto-overview/
And the excellent presentation here: https://www.haikuphoto.com/
Looking through the photos above, some clearly contain a seasonal reference but others don’t seem to. Although there is a fly (a summer kigo) on the amusing signpost….
Looking forward to an educative commentary!
Thanks, Keith. Shall try that route.
I haven’t submitted my photos yet, but today I voted for my top three, and I’d like to participate from now on. I’d like to know if there’s a theme for the photos, or if it’s up to us: I saw that kigo was mentioned, so I don’t want to get it wrong. Thanks for your attention.
Sorry for my poor English.
Hi Angiola
The results, commentary and the new topic will be announced on the 15th of the month.
Good luck with your entries.
I voted based on kigo number. Hope it’s correct. Please confirm.
Yes, Pegah, the vote is based on the kigo number.
All the very best if you entered the haiku::photo.
Thank you so much Carol.
Same to you :)
Making a top ten was so difficult and deciding on a top 3, tortuous. Which is to say, I am loving this new form!
It’s true. The choice is painfully difficult :)
The file names of the photos include the participants’ names. Next time, it would be a good idea to keep this information secret before voting. I admire these beautiful and thoughtful photos. Warmest regards to everyone.
