Cherie Hunter Day has published haiku and tanka for over thirty years. Recent collections include A House Meant Only for Summer (2023, haibun and tanka prose), and Miles Deep in a Drum Solo (2022, winner of the 2022 Touchstone Distinguished Haiku Book Award). She currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area among seventeen thirsty redwoods.
